BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College football program has announced the addition of Marcus Adams and St. Clair Ryan to head coach B.J. Hammer’s staff for the 2025 season.
 
St. Clair Ryan arrives in Brunswick after serving as recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach at Middlebury, where he helped guide the Panthers to the 2023 NESCAC Championship. He previously held positions at Brown (offensive quality control, 2021–22) and Nichols (assistant coach, 2017–21). A 2016 graduate of Anna Maria College with a degree in sport management, Ryan was a four-year letterwinner at running back and defensive back, serving as team captain his senior year. He will work with Bowdoin’s cornerbacks.
 
Marcus Adams comes to Bowdoin from Wabash College, where he coached the defensive line since 2023. His collegiate coaching career also includes stops at Black Hills State (S.D.) and Eastern Kentucky University. A two-time All-American at Eastern Kentucky, Adams went on to play nine seasons in the Canadian Football League, winning the 2007 Grey Cup with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He began his coaching career at the University of Ottawa in 2012 and will lead the Polar Bears’ defensive line.
