Illinois governor JB Pritzker has issued a stern warning to Donald Trump as he insists the U.S. president should reconsider his plans to deploy the National Guard to ChicagoCNN interrupted as Illinois governor issues damning 5-word demand to Trump
JB Pritzker warns Donald Trump to reconsider deployment to Chicago or else, “an unprecedented and difficult time” will prevail.
On Monday, Aug. 23, CNN’s The Arena with Kasie Hunt was interrupted as the Illinois governor made his feelings clear on the U.S. president’s latest military actions and his future plans to invade Illinois.
As the National Guard gears up to be deployed in 19 states to support ICE operations, Pritzker has guaranteed Trump’s “dangerous power grab” won’t affect Chicago as the president wishes. The news channel turned to live coverage of the governor addressing a crowd as he demanded, “Mr. President, do not come to Chicago.”

“I know Donald Trump doesn’t care about the well-being of the members of our military, but I do,” he added, before stating the president should “reconsider this dangerous and misguided encroachment.”
Govenor of Illinois JB Pritzker tells Donald Trump “do not come to Chicago”
“Hopefully, rational voices, if they are any left in the White House or Pentagon, will prevail in the coming days,” Pritzker wished. “If not, we are going to face an unprecedented and difficult time ahead.”
The governor says if Trump moves forward with this attempt, he will fully support protestors as long as they “do it peacefully.”
Not only is he leaving it up to the people of Illinois to take care of the matter, but his team is also planning a course of action.
“The state of Illinois is ready to stand against this military deployment with every peaceful tool we have,” he revealed. “We will see the Trump administration in court.”
“If you hurt my people, nothing will stop me, not time or political circumstance, from making sure you face justice under our constitutional rule of law,” Pritzker concluded.
The governor’s statement comes as a response to the declarations Trump was making earlier this morning.
“Chicago, Illinois, is a disaster. I have property there. It’s a disaster,” Trump said, later adding, “Chicago is a killing field.”

“They need help. We may wait. We may or may not. We may just go in and do it, which is probably what we should do,” the president said when asked about his next move regarding deployment to Chicago.
“When we’re ready, we’ll go in and we’ll straighten out Chicago, just like we did D.C.”
A few weeks ago, the president deployed federal agents and the National Guard across Washington, D.C., due to the Department of Government Efficiency’s former employee, Edward Coristine, being left bloodied from a local carjacking.
“We’re not playing games,” Trump said. “We’re going to make it safe. And we’re going to then go on to other places.”
“I think Chicago will be our next [stop] and then we’ll help with New York,” he added.
