ENFIELD, N.H. (WCAX) – A warning to residents in Enfield, New Hampshire, to be on the lookout for rabid foxes.
A fox that attacked a family in the Bud Mil Road area before being killed has tested positive for rabies.
Other people in that area of Enfield have had similar encounters with a least one other fox that exhibited strange behavior.
A total of six residents are now being treated for possible rabies exposure and local police say to keep an eye out.
“It is an ongoing fluid situation. If you see an animal that is acting strangely, please call us or Fish and Game, and we will come out and check it. Be vigilant as you are out walking, and we will keep the people in that area apprised if we do locate any other animals,” Enfield Police Chief Roy Holland said.
