The College football season is here, and the race to win a Big Ten Championship is on as the league enters its second year of a new era of college football. Oregon won the conference in its first season in the Big Ten, but then the Ohio State Buckeyes rolled through the college football playoffs to dominate and win the national championship, including a blowout win over the Ducks. Now the year and conference resets itself as new faces emerge to replace departed superstars, programs are rising and falling, and yet again an exciting season is here.

The 2025 football season is shaping up to be an exciting one as the league has more than a handful of teams that will compete for the College Football Playoffs, while nearly every team in the league can also envision a path to making a bowl game this season.

These power rankings will not be based on record, but based upon who we think week in and week out are the best teams in order, regardless of ranking.

We’ll be updating our power rankings each week on Mondays. Here is our preseason rankings ahead of the first week of the season!
