Another exciting weekend of NASCAR Cup Series action is in the books following the Toyota/SaveMart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
Trackhouse Racing star Shane van Gisbergen won his second consecutive Cup Series race at the California road course on Sunday, backing up his previous wins in Chicago and Mexico City and taking his 2025 victory tally to three.
However, elsewhere at the 1.99-mile circuit, it was a busy evening for the officials, with multiple in-race penalties handed out to the drivers.
At Sonoma, the most common infraction committed during the race was ‘speeding on pit road’, with Denny Hamlin one of four drivers hit with penalties for this throughout Sunday’s race.
Hamlin was hit with a ‘pass-thru’ penalty for his violation as it occurred under green flag conditions, whilst the other three drivers, Cole Custer, Katherine Legge, and Ty Dillion, were hit with tail-end penalties due to their violation having occurred under yellow.
Elsewhere at Sonoma, Cody Ware and the No. 51 team were hit with two separate penalties during the race, one for ‘pitting before pit road open’ and another ‘unspecified’ infraction related to losing a wheel, resulting in a tail-end penalty and the loss of two laps.
Other infractions punished at Sonoma included tail-end penalties for Justin Haley and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. after a ‘safety violation’ and ‘pitting before pit road open’, respectively.
With all of that said, you can find the full in-race penalty report below.
