All 32 teams across the NFL are trimming down their rosters on Tuesday, as they must comply with the league’s deadline at 4 p.m. ET to have 53 players on their rosters.
While the San Francisco 49ers haven’t made a lot of moves to this point, they’ve reportedly made two moves on Tuesday morning, waiving wide receiver Terique Owens and cornerback Dallis Flowers, per reports.

Owens, the son of NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, caught 61 passes for 1,071 yards and six touchdowns throughout his college career at Missouri State, Florida Atlantic and Contra Costa Community College. He signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent last year and spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad. Despite all the injuries at wide receiver, Owens was never more than a depth piece this offseason.
Flowers, 28, played at Grand View from 2016-20, earning NAIA All-American honors in two seasons before transferring to Pittsburgh State for the 2021 season. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and also had a short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before landing with San Francisco back in May.
In 23 games, Flowers has recorded 38 tackles, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. While he was getting reps with the first team earlier this offseason, the return of Renardo Green put him back down as a backup option.
