“That was a lot more traumatic and dramatic than if I had just gone to her and talked to her about it,” she admitted. “But I, too, was really scared to talk to my mom about it, to the point where I actually lied and hid the truth from her.”
Jennie—who also shares daughters Luca, 27, and Lola, 22, with Peter—kept that in mind with her own daughters. In fact, Fiona has been grateful for the open relationship she has with her mom about the topic.
“I feel like I just asked you if you could sit down and talk with me about it,” the teen recalled on the podcast. “At first, I was kind of nervous to tell you that it was for sex purposes.”
Eventually, she and Jennie decided it was best for her to see a gynecologist to have an “open, honest conversation.”
“I just think it’s important to open up the channels of discussion because there’s nothing you shouldn’t talk to your mom about,” the Secret Santa actress emphasized. “There’s nothing embarrassing. There’s no shame around it. It’s a natural thing and it deserves feeling comfortable.”
