OUTTA POCKET WITH RGIII Podcast to Join FOX Sports/Red Seat Ventures

LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports welcomes Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Pro Bowler Robert Griffin III to its award-winning lineup as a game analyst. Griffin III will pair with veteran play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti for the 2025 season alongside another FOX Sports newcomer, sideline reporter Alexa Landestoy. Griffin III’s signing was announced today by FOX Sports President of Production & Operations/Executive Producer Brad Zager.

“Robert is one of the most electrifying and unforgettable athletes in college football history,” said Zager. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him join Jason in the booth and bring his analysis and passion for the game of football to FOX Sports.”

In addition to his work in the booth, Griffin III’s popular podcast, OUTTA POCKET WITH RGIII, will be featured on FOX Sports/Red Seat Ventures – a leading business in the creator economy that powers talent across a range of genres as they build their direct-to-consumer media businesses. Co-hosted with his wife, Grete Griffin, OUTTA POCKET explores the hottest topics in sports and features incisive interviews with the industry’s biggest names.

“This opportunity with FOX Sports represents the perfect intersection of my two greatest passions – football and storytelling,” said Griffin, “I’m honored to join the FOX Sports family and excited to celebrate the game of football while working with some of the best people in the business telling the stories that matter. My goal is to bring that authentic perspective to every broadcast, helping fans understand not just what’s happening on the field, but why it matters and what it means to the young men chasing their dreams. Teaming up with Jason Benetti, whom I greatly respect, and working alongside Alexa Landestoy will be special.”

The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner, Griffin III was a standout quarterback at Baylor University throwing for 10,366 passing yards and 78 touchdowns while rushing for 2,254 yards and 33 touchdowns across his collegiate career. One of only three players in FBS history with over 10,000 passing yards, he was also awarded the Davey O’Brien and Manning awards from his standout 2011 season where he led the team to a 10-3 record and a win in the Alamo Bowl – the program’s first bowl game victory in nearly two decades. Known for his exceptional speed, Griffin III was lauded as college football’s fastest quarterback and earned All-America status on Baylor’s outdoor track and field team in Spring 2008.

Selected second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by Washington, Griffin III delivered one of the most memorable rookie campaigns in league history earning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors. Off an electric seven-game winning streak, he led Washington to the NFC East division title for the first time since 1999 and the team’s first playoff appearance since 2007. Griffin III went on to play for the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in his eight-year NFL career.

Griffin is also the founder of The RG3 Foundation, which strives to discover, design, and support programs that benefit underprivileged youth, struggling military families, and those facing food insecurity.

Following his playing career, Griffin III transitioned to the broadcast booth and served as a college football and NFL analyst at ESPN starting in 2021. While at the network, he provided in-game analysis as well as studio coverage across “NFL Live” and “Monday Night Countdown.”
