According to City Council Woman Theresa Kail Smith, Sheetz is taking over a former Rite-Aid location in the city.

Kail Smith says the former Rite Aid on Banksville Road will be transformed into the latest location of the growing convenience chain.

She tells KDKA Radio she confirmed the store with the property manager.

Sheetz has a plan to open 1000 stores by 2028.

On Thursday, Sheetz will celebrate its 800th store opening.

That location is in North Carolina.

There is no current timeline for the opening of the Banksville Sheetz.

Kail Smith believes the Banksville Sheetz will be the first on within City of Pittsburgh limits.
