4-Star Guard Lucas Morillo Cuts List to 6 Impressive Suitors
At 6-foot-7, Morillo is a versatile combo guard who’s proven to be one of the biggest stock risers in the high school senior class over the past few months. Over the spring and summer, his play on the AAU circuit and at other showcases has caught the attention of national analysts and scouts. That, in turn, has fueled a surge in Morillo’s offer sheet and 2026 national rankings.
Morillo plans to make trips to all his remaining finalists. This weekend, Morillo has officially visited Marquette and was on a trip to Minnesota, per On3/Rivals’s Joe Tipton. In late September, he’ll be on the Illinois campus. At the time of this writing, the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine had Illinois out in front for Morillo, followed by Marquette.
As he takes more campus visits, this could ebb and flow.
Per recruiting Web sites, Morillo’s full offer list includes teams such as Minnesota, Marquette, Illinois, Texas, UCLA, Virginia, Dayton, East Carolina, N.C. State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Villanova, Virginia Tech, VCU, Creighton, Georgetown, Penn State, Washington, Iowa, Xavier and Boston College, among others.
Skyrocketing 4-Star Has Soared in 2026 Rankings
To give you an idea of just how fast of a riser Morillo is in the senior cycle:
A few months ago, he wasn’t even nationally ranked by all the main recruiting services. Some recruiting Web sites had him ranked in the top 80-100 range. Currently, Morillo’s highest 2026 ranking comes from Rivals, which places him at No. 32 overall.

Morillo is No. 56 nationwide, according to the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking. Over at the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is No. 62 nationally.
In the 2025-26 season, the Mount Vernon native will be a senior at The Newman School in Boston. As a junior, he put forth an award-winning campaign as Newman went 31-9 overall and claimed the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (“NEPSAC”) Class AAA championship.
Stellar AAU Circuit and FIBA World Cup
This spring and summer, Morillo elevated his stock in the 2026 cycle as he performed at a high level for the 17U team of the Albany-based City Rocks in Nike’s EYBL league. During the latest EYBL season, college coaches were able to watch Morillo during several NCAA-permitted live periods. His play for City Rocks only helped his standing in 2026.
In EYBL competition, Morillo averaged 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game. The scouting experts at The Circuit named him to their All-EYBL third team.
This summer, he also represented the Dominican Republic at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland. While the Dominican Republic only sported a 2-5 mark at this annual event, Morillo was awesome, averaging 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game. The 17-year-old was efficient, shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 74.2 percent from the free-throw line and 26.9 percent from beyond the arc.
