One dead following Klumac Road shooting

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department is investigating after a shooting left one man dead following a home invasion on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:13 a.m., when officers reportedly responded to a reported home invasion and shooting in the 300 block of Klumac Road.

The department has identified the victim as 23-year-old Jabreel Kzarion Russell.

Russell is a former Salisbury High School football standout, described by his former coach Brian Hinson as “not only a tremendous athlete, he’s a charismatic guy with a big smile.”

Agents from Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE), who were already working in the area, assisted officers with securing the scene, according to a release from the Salisbury Police Department. The Salisbury Police Department’s Crime Scene Division and detectives remain on site actively investigating the incident.
