Juday Creek Golf Course continuing to rebuild one year after massive fire at clubhouse

  • August 30, 2025

GRANGER, Ind. (WNDU) – On Aug. 26, 2024, a huge fire engulfed the clubhouse at Juday Creek Golf Course, burning it to the ground.

When fire crews were there, the fire had already burned through the floor and was extending into the attic space overhead.

State Sen. Linda Rogers recalls what used to fill this vacant lot after losing the clubhouse at her golf course just over a year ago.

“Area right here was a snack shop,” Rogers said.

And memories as well.

“When we do our junior programs these kids, they come so excited to play golf and then their coach might be a college golfer, high school golfer that they can look up to, so I think people grow and that has been the best.”

Despite the devastating fire, the popular golf course has never closed. In fact, it’s received some meaningful upgrades.

When the fire broke out, firefighters struggled to bring the water inside the golf course because there was no fire hydrant there. Now it has multiple fire hydrants as it has the city water pipeline in it.

The new portable pro shop is powered by solar panels on top of it.

Rogers says she and her family are working hard to rebuild the clubhouse.

“We have to figure out what are going to be our next steps,” Rogers said. “You can’t look back. You have to look forward and you’ve got to pull yourself together despite being devastated. You just have to do what you can. But it’s just so many things, so many steps you have to take. You know, I always say dot your I’s and cross your T’s… that’s what we’re doing.”

Roger says she and her family are currently in the bidding process and negotiating with various contractors. She also emphasized the golf course will continue running as it has been.
