Indiana men’s basketball is set to host Tay Kinney, a 5-star point guard in the class of 2026, for an official visit this weekend, according to Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals:
Kinney was on campus today, according to his Instagram:
The Hoosiers are one of the eight programs currently under consideration by Kinney, with the others being Kentucky, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Miami (FL), Louisville and Big Ten rival Oregon. Some pretty steep competition, obviously.
Kinney is the 15th highest-rated overall prospect and third highest-rated point guard in Rivals’ industry ranking. He currently plays for Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia, and is originally from Newport, Kentucky, just outside of Cincinnati.
Darian DeVries and Indiana are wasting no time in their approach to the recruiting landscape, putting in work with some of the top available prospects. As far as the position, Indiana prioritized defense this past offseason in its pursuit of likely starter Tayton Conerway.
Kinney has some defensive chops of his own, averaging 1.3 steals per game on the adidas 3Stripes Select Basketball circuit.
