Talks regarding Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia’s prospective loan to Elche have collapsed.

Club-to-club negotiations between United and Elche were being held at the end of last week.

But discussions broke down over the weekend after all parties involved were unable to agree on the inclusion of a clause to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Elche are expected to turn their attentions to Sevilla’s Adria Pedrosa.

Malacia’s Old Trafford contract is set to expire next summer, although United have an option to extend for a further year.

The 26-year-old is set to be the only remaining member of United’s so-called ‘bomb squad’, who have trained separately from the rest of the Ruben Amorim’s players all summer.

Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho have already secured exits to Barcelona on loan and Chelsea on a permanent basis, while Antony and Jadon Sancho are finalising moves to Real Betis and Aston Villa.
