Iga Swiatek won her sixth Grand Slam title at Wimbledon this year, but she was not leading in every statistic.

Swiatek dominated in her final against Amanda Anisimova, enabling her to win a first title of any sort in over a year.

The Pole had endured a relatively challenging season up to that point, but Swiatek has now climbed back up the WTA rankings following her Wimbledon victory.

Despite her triumph at the grass court major, there were two WTA players who actually hit more winners than Swiatek at Wimbledon this year.

Swiatek hit an impressive 149 winners during her run to the Wimbledon title, with only 10 of those coming in her final victory over Anisimova.

This puts her in third overall for the women’s singles event at Wimbledon this year, sitting ahead of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Belinda Bencic.

However, she is some way behind the top two in that leaderboard, with Aryna Sabalenka out ahead after hitting 185 winners.

Sabalenka was beaten in the semifinals by Anisimova, who sits in second in this statistic with 172 winners.

Who hit the most winners in the men’s singles tournament at Wimbledon this year?

There is a similar situation in the men’s singles draw, with Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner only hitting the fifth highest number of winners in the tournament.

Three of the four players above Sinner reached at least the semifinals, with runner-up Carlos Alcaraz hitting more winners than anyone else with 284.

However, one of the players to be above Sinner was knocked out in the fourth round, with the big-serving Nicolas Jarry hitting 257 winners before being knocked out by Cameron Norrie.

Sinner spoke about trying to be aggressive against Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final, but these statistics suggest that his lack of errors have played a bigger part in his run to a fourth major title.

Despite this, it was actually Sinner who hit both more winners and unforced errors against Alcaraz.
