MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The Whispering Pines Golf Course is back open after months of renovations, the city says.

The Myrtle Beach City Government announced via Facebook that their city-owned golf course has reopened.

The renovations include: new tee boxes, new greens, new fairways, new sand traps, a new pump for the pump house, new irrigation heads and a repaved parking lot.

The city also announced that a new sign reading, “Welcome to the Golf Capital of the World!” will be placed next to the Myrtle Beach International Airport in the coming weeks.

The city council approved the cost of the project, which totaled $1,447,320.
