A video of Bill Belichick talking with his girlfriend right before kickoff on Monday evening is hard to watch following North Carolina’s blowout loss.

North Carolina put on a show on Monday evening – then the game started. The Tar Heels were extremely amped up for Bill Belichick’s first game in Chapel Hill. Several prominent UNC alums, including Michael Jordan, Mia Hamm, Lawrence Taylor and others, were in attendance at Kenan Memorial Stadium. A soldout crowd of 50,500 people were on hand for the Week 1 game.

Final score: TCU 48, UNC 14.

Ouch.

Following the game, a concerning video of Belichick, 73, with his girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, went viral on social media.

Belichick and Hudson, who have been dating for roughly two years, have made a lot of headlines for their relationship in recent months. There was that very awkward CBS Sunday Mornings interview, in which Hudson repeatedly intervened. There have been other clips of Hudson out on the practice field or out on the grass during the spring game. Belichick, arguably the most ruthless head coach in NFL history, seems to be along for the ride.

Monday night, a pregame clip summed everything up.

Pregame video of Belichick, girlfriend goes viral

Ahead of kickoff on Monday evening, Belichick was on the sideline, talking with his much younger girlfriend.

“Bill Belichick was talking to his girlfriend on the sideline before the kickoff of last night’s football game. What happened to this guy?” one fan wrote, sharing the video on X.

Coaches and players will sometimes talk with friends or family members on the field, but usually, it happens way before warmups are taking place.

North Carolina went on to lose to TCU by four touchdowns, making things even worse. It’s just one game, but it doesn’t look like the Bill Belichick experiment in Chapel Hill is going to go very well.
