LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Men’s Basketball has announced their 2025-26 schedule that features marquee road games, the Battle at the Beach, and a loaded home schedule with 16 games for the Beach to be played in the Walter Pyramid.

The season officially begins on Tuesday, November 4, when Chris Acker‘s squad will face his former home, San Diego State, as the team starts the season. The Beach will then remain on the road for their next two games, taking on Fresno State and Pacific, a pair of former conference rivals.

Long Beach State will face an interesting opponent in their home opener, hosting Illinois State on Sunday, November 16. The Redbirds are a solid program from the Missouri Valley and posted a 22-14 overall record last season, winning the College Basketball Invitational tournament. The Beach and the Redbirds will be facing each other for the third time.

Next on the schedule is the Battle at the Beach. The tournament will feature three teams that will each play one another over three days in November at the Walter Pyramid. The Beach will start by hosting Nobel University, a new college from Buena Park, on November 19. Montana State will then play Nobel on November 20, and the Beach will host Montana State to close the tournament on Friday, November 21.

Non-conference play continues on the road for the Beach with a trip to play Portland on November 26, and then the Beach hosts San Diego on Sunday, November 30.

Week 0 for Big West play will be held once again to start December, as the Beach will travel to UC Santa Barbara before hosting UC San Diego to begin conference play before the new year. Long Beach State will then travel to face San Jose State and host Pepperdine on December 18.

Another feature game comes on December 21, as Long Beach State will travel to Ames, Iowa, to play Iowa State in a non-conference matchup. The Cyclones finished the season ranked No. 17 in the nation last year, and the two teams will meet for the first time. The Beach will then close their six-game non-conference home slate by hosting Lincoln on December 30.

The new year marks the return of Big West play. On January 3, Long Beach State will host Cal Poly, and the next week the Beach will head to Irvine for the first half of the Black and Blue Rivalry before hosting Cal State Bakersfield. League play then continues through the rest of the year, with Long Beach State hosting Hawai’i on January 31, Cal State Fullerton on February 12, and UC Irvine on February 19 in key home games.

Long Beach State closes the Big West schedule with their final home game on March 5, hosting UC Davis before traveling to finish the regular season on the road at Hawai’i on March 7. The Big West Championship immediately follows in Henderson, Nevada, beginning on March 11.
