HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A company called XploreRide Hawaii aims to show visitors around Honolulu with a twist.
XploreRide uses virtual reality technology to make riders feel like they are traveling down the road alongside deep sea marine life, coral reefs, volcanoes, and Hawaiian history and culture.
The zero-emission eco-bus takes passengers around popular spots like Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, where they can see actual sites around them while virtual reality gives the illusion that dazzling creatures are also along for the ride.
The inaugural ride kicks off Tuesday, July 22, with a Hawaiian blessing.
Hawaiian Cultural Consultant and Kumu Hula Blaine Kamalani Kia will consecrate the official first ride with a blessing, followed by remarks from the XploreRide team, Hawaii HIS Corporation.
