It appears Clemson will be allocating the max, $20.5 million to revenue sharing, with approximately 90% of that going to football and men’s basketball according to what the standard 75-15-5-5 split most schools are using.
$20,500,000.00 x .90 = $18,450,000.00 allocated to football/mbb
There are approximately 138 football/mbb players so that’s $133,044.00/player, if distributed evenly.
The actual numbers, if I’m understanding this correctly, are closer to 11% of the total designated to men’s basketball, so…
$20,500,000.00 x .11 = $2,255,000.00
$2,255,000.00/13 (mbb players) = $173,462.00/player
I have to make an assumption here, because I don’t have the actual percentages for football, but the standard model is 75% football and 15% mbb. Since we are reportedly using 11% for basketball I will apply the remaining 4% to football bringing that sport to 79%.
$20,500,000.00 x .79 = $16,195,000.00
$16,195.00/125 (~fb players) = $129,560.00/player
In summary, revenue sharing is giving each player on average…
Football: $129,560.00
MBB: $172,615.00
MBB > Football at Clemson = Major win for CBB and something I think we are all glad to finally see.

When competing teams are committing a higher % to basketball, it is hardly a big win but guessing you are just trolling as usual

Why the passive aggressiveness? You seem to have information relevant to the topic but dont want to share it? I am genuinely interested in seeing what sources you have that shows a) what competing teams mean, b)who they are and c) what they are contributing % wise

If you have a genuine interest as you state, do a little research as it’s not hard to find. My comment was based on the LF accepting any info which seemingly puts CBB in a bad light but want a link on any date which supports what he said on the radio a few days ago. I could post a link but am sure it won’t change anyone’s mind so why bother?

since this is something everyone will be doing I’m not sure how much impact it has. Maybe as this is implemented we will see some benefits depending on how creative we are. Doesn’t limiting it to the “major” sports create some backlish potential from other sports who are left out.

All this does is guarantee more money for everyone. The teams with a gazillion NIL dollars will still keep right on doing what theyre doing now to maintain their advantage.

yep…I can see this just getting worse and worse. Baseball, soccer, volleyball, track etc are complain that BB players are making more money than the FB players, yet BB doesn’t bring in near the revenue as FB. Other sports will demand more money. FB will complain the revenue they bring in is used to pay other sports. FB will break away on their own to keep 100% of their money and the non-revenue sports will die. I just dont see how elite FB programs and all other sports will be able can coexist at the same school. Eventually I think we will only see football at the elite P5 schools. The lower tier and D2 schools will only have non/low revenue sports.

I’m glad you are excited by this, but I have to wonder how much longer Clemson football players are willing to play second fiddle to the men’s basketball program. At some point, you have to believe they are going to think hold on a second, who pays the bills around here again?

I also see this as a major win for Brownell.
Thanks FM for explaining in detail.
Our Football team has done more with less than many other programs. No reason now why Tiger Basketball cannot now become a major player.
(I would have given all the $$ to football).

I mean thats a helluva negotiation CBB was able to pull off. For a program that lost nearly $1M in FY24 to get 11% of the bank roll is a windfall not matter who you ask
But maybe in FY25 he was able to break-even if not turn a profit? Looking forward to the release of the financial
