HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women’s basketball team has released its 2025-26 non-conference schedule as announced by Head Coach Chelsea Banbury. The reigning Big South Tournament and Regular-Season Champions will return to action on November 3rd for college basketball’s opening night.

The Panthers will host eight teams at the Nido & Mariana Qubein Arena, while hitting the road for six games. HPU will play two of those six away games at a neutral site over Thanksgiving break.

Before High Point tips off the 2025-26 regular-season, the Panthers will head to Raleigh on October 18 for an exhibition game with the Wolfpack of North Carolina State University. The Wolfpack made it to the Sweet 16 in last year’s NCAA Tournament, but fell short to Louisiana State University, 80-73. This will be the fifth meeting between the Panthers and Wolfpack and the first since the 2015-16 season.

Johnson C. Smith University comes to the Qubein Center to tip-off the 2025-26 season on Nov. 3. The Panthers and the Golden Bulls last met in 2023 resulting in a 61-50 win for HPU. High Point is looking for its fourth straight victory over JCSU dating back to the 1997-98 season.

On Nov. 8, Wofford College will enter High Point after taking the 75-61 win against the Panthers on their home court last season. The Terriers wrapped up their 17-12 season after falling to the No. 1 seed UNC Greensboro in the Southern Conference Tournament semifinals.

The Panthers will host Merrimack College for the first meeting between the two programs on Nov. 12. The Warriors capped last season off with a 14-17 record and a loss in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference semifinals.

Continuing with the non-conference schedule, HPU will welcome East Carolina University on Nov. 16 for the fourth meeting with the Pirates. ECU saw a 17-15 overall record last season after dropping its quarterfinal game in the conference tournament.

Nov. 19 will see the Catamounts of University of Vermont make its way south for the first meeting between the two programs. The reigning America East Tournament Champions went 21-13 last season and made an appearance against NC State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

High Point will hit the road for the first time this season for a trip to Houston, Texas to match up with the Cougars on Nov. 23, before heading to New Orleans for the Big Easy New Orleans Classic.

The Panthers will spend Thanksgiving in Louisiana as they will play two games at the Alario Center on Nov. 28 and 29. Teams are still to be announced.

Entering the month of December, University of Virginia’s College at Wise will make its way to the Qubein Center on Dec. 1 for the first match up between the Panthers and the Cavaliers.

Back on the road for a Dec. 5 meeting with South Carolina State University for the first meeting since 2000-01. The Panthers will be back home in High Point on Dec. 14 to host North Carolina Central University who they last faced in 2020, resulting in an 87-65 win.

The last non-conference road match up will be on Dec. 17 against the Davidson College Wildcats. Last season, High Point and Davidson matched up in the Qubein Center as the Panthers snuck away with the 56-53 victory. The Wildcats finished off their season with a 19-14 record and an appearance in the Women’s Basketball Invitational after a loss in the Atlantic 10 semifinals.

Yale University will come to North Carolina to wrap up the non-conference schedule on Dec. 20 in the Qubein Center. The Bulldogs and the Panthers will meet for the first time before switching gears and focusing on the conference slate.
