Welcome to our live coverage of the Week 1 showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets. In a surprisingly high-scoring first half, the Jets took a 19-17 lead into intermission. 

The game started with five consecutive scoring drives that included three by the home team. New York’s offense was led in the first half by Justin Fields and running back Breece Hall, the latter of whom had 87 all-purpose yards on 11 touches. Fields went 9 of 11 for 134 yards in the first half that included a go-ahead touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. 

Pittsburgh received a solid first half from Rodgers, whose first drive as a Steeler ended with a touchdown pass to Ben Skowronek. The Steelers got a field goal on their next drive and ended the half with a Jonnu Smith touchdown pass from Rodgers, who went 11 of 14 for 159 yards and two scores in the game’s first 30 minutes. 

Rushing was the biggest difference in the first half. The Jets rushed for 106 yards on 21 carries, while the Steelers gained just 22 yards on 10 carries.
