When updated national 2026 rankings were released last week, Toni Bryant came in at No. 23 overall in the class. Behind the scenes, though, Bryant was one of the most debated prospects in the class.
Previously, Bryant had spent the entire year inside the top-15 because of his size, athleticism, and high motor. More recently, though, he had worked to extend his game to the perimeter and become less efficient in the process. Bryant averaged 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds during the Pro16 grassroots season. He also opted against participating in the NBPA Top 100 Camp and was not chosen for the USA Basketball Trials, so there were fewer opportunities for him to prove himself against top national competition. Bryant was still being recruited by some of the biggest programs in college basketball, but ultimately not ascending at quite the same rate.
Bryant announced his commitment to Missouri on Monday. He joins Jason Crowe Jr., the No. 3 overall prospect in the class, to commit to head coach Dennis Gates so far in 2026. While the class is trending towards a historic one for Mizzou, now the challenge becomes how to maximize their latest pledge.
