On Sunday, President Donald Trump attended the U.S. Open, causing long lines at security and a lot of booing. Alongside the president were son-in-law Jared Kushner and granddaughter Arabella Kushner, but no Ivanka Trump. Now that she no longer has an official White House role, Ivanka usually only turns up at the fun events, so it was kind of surprising when she didn’t attend the final match between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Well, as it turns out, she had an even more fun opportunity: hanging out with Gisele Bündchen on a yacht in Miami. Honey Deuces be damned.

The same day her family was at the U.S. Open, Ivanka was photographed having a blast with Bündchen and the model’s boyfriend, Joaquim Valente. In photographs published by “Page Six,” the trio can be seen eating and smiling, with Ivanka doing some very animated storytelling. Later, they got on the ship’s bow to do some tanning alongside Bündchen’s daughter Vivian and one of her friends.

If this link-up seems kind of random, you clearly have been making the healthy decision to not keep up with the goings-on of Ivanka Trump. Beside the fact that being wealthy South Floridians who are sort of MAHAadjacent automatically made her and Bündchen likely to gravitate toward each other, the two have a pretty strong mutual connection. Last October, the New York Times reported that Ivanka had taken up jujitsu and was training with Joaquim Valente and his brothers at their Florida studio. In March, she was featured in an Instagram post from the Valente brothers, which revealed she had worked her way up to a blue belt. So she’s been in Bündchen’s orbit for a minute now.

In March, the women went to Costa Rica together, where they were joined by Karlie Kloss. Kloss is not only Ivanka’s sister-in-law, but she is also, like Bündchen, a former Victoria’s Secret model. TMZ reported that the women were “surrounded by family members and chatting amicably.” Kloss is currently very pregnant, which might explain why she couldn’t make it out to the boat this weekend.

I think it’s safe to say that Ivanka and Bündchen have graduated from jujitsu pals to real-life friends. The funniest thing this could result in is Bündchen going on Theo Von’s podcast, which I am crossing my fingers for.
