Hilary Duff, the former pop star known for her iconic role as Disney’s Lizzy McGuire, is returning to music.
The singer – and actress – has signed a record deal with Atlantic Records, The Hollywood Reporter reports the label announced on Tuesday.
Duff hasn’t released an album since 2015’s ″Breathe In. Breathe Out.”
Duff’s husband teased something in the works on Mother’s Day, sharing a photo of Duff in the studio with the caption asking Duff to “please go save millennial pop music, it needs you now more than ever.”
Duff return to music will be chronicled with a docuseries. According to the report, it is suggested that live shows may be planned, saying that “fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade.”
Duff became a household name as a teenager in the early 2000s after taking the lead role in the Disney Channel’s classic “Lizzie McGuire.” She also starred in “Cheaper by the Dozen,” and “The Lizzie McGuire Movie.”
You might have seen Duff most recently in Hulu’s “How I Met Your Mother” spin-off “How I Met Your Father,” which lasted just two seasons.
