The conversation all week has been about the QB play for Week 3.
Zach Calzada exited last Saturday’s 30-23 loss to Ole Miss in the fourth quarter after sustaining a right shoulder injury from a throw.
Calzada finished the game, completing 15 of 30 passes for 149 yards, with no touchdowns. His overall season line stands at 25 completions on 53 attempts for 234 yards and one interception. Not great.
On Monday, head coach Mark Stoops provided an update, saying he was “unsure” about Calzada’s status and confirmed that Calzada did not practice on Monday.
Stoops also emphasized that he’d reevaluate the quarterback position regardless of Calzada’s health.
Meanwhile, redshirt freshman Cutter Boley picked up first-team reps at practice and is “absolutely” expected to see action this Saturday.
As of now, Calzada is still listed as the starter, but Boley is poised to play regardless, with Kentucky monitoring both closely heading into the game against Eastern Michigan.
