WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Boston’s 6-0 win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
The right-hander entered the game in the seventh inning.
Slaten got Darell Hernaiz to line out for the first out of the inning. He then allowed back-to-back singles to Lawrence Butler and Zack Gelof to put two runners on base. Slaten got Shea Langeliers to strike out swinging and Brent Rooker to line out to end the inning.
Slaten threw 18 pitches, with 13 of them being strikes.
Boston (81-65) sits in third place in the AL East, and continues their series against the Athletics on Wednesday.
