SUMAS, Wash. — Officials with the City of Sumas announced today, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, that a bear had been sighted in the area of the Sumas Rodeo Grounds.
There was a confirmed bear in the area of the Sumas Rodeo grounds today, by the bridge, between the rodeo area and the playground. Fish and Wildlife has been advised. Please be alert to your surroundings while in the area. Refer to the Black bear | Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife website for information regarding Black bear’s.
Any confirmed sightings within Sumas City limits, please call 911.
