Twenty-four years ago today, our world changed. I wrote a short feature a long time ago about my experience from that day growing up in New Jersey, and I often share it on the anniversary. I was much younger than I am today when I wrote it, but my feelings were my feelings and they still ring true for me.

We do still have some baseball to keep an eye on and discuss today on the site as hope the Yankees avoid a sweep at the hands of the Tigers. Peter will have the Rivalry Roundup, Jeff will explain why Ryan McMahon has impressed him so much since coming over at the Trade Deadline, and John will write up the latest 2000 Yankees Diary entry (the last normal 9/11 in New York, I suppose).

Questions/Prompts:

1. Should the Yankees just try someone from Triple-A in a big-league bullpen role given the recent struggles? Or do you think the reserves just aren’t worth the time?

2. Do you dare muster the energy to multitask and watch Thursday Night Football? Or do you find it not worth your time?
