The likes of William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz have all missed Arsenal training ahead of facing Forest.
The trio are not expected to play after recent injuries, meaning Arteta must head into Saturday’s game without three important players.
Christian Norgaard was involved in training at London Colney, with the Dane now in contention to play against Forest.
Arsenal signed Norgaard from Brentford over the summer, offering a new experienced midfield option after Jorginho’s move to Flamengo.
Norgaard has been out injured of late, though, and has yet to make his Premier League debut since joining the Gunners.
Norgaard missed Denmark’s games against Scotland and Greece in this international break, but is now back on the grass with Arsenal.
A starting role against Forest looks unlikely, but Arteta could call on Norgaard from the bench if needed this weekend.
No issues for Riccardo Calafiori
Arsenal have seen Riccardo Calafiori shine in the early weeks of the season, making the left-back position his own.
Injuries have been a constant concern for Calafiori, though, and alarm bells will have been ringing after he was left on the bench in Italy’s 5-4 win over Israel on Monday night.
However, Calafiori was in full training on Thursday, meaning he should be ready to play against Forest this weekend.
Piero Hincapie dazzled at left-back for Ecuador against Argentina, but the position is Calafiori’s to lose – and he should be involved against Forest.
