The UofM center went undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft before signing with Miami’s Summer League team.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Former Memphis Tigers standout center Dain Dainja signed his first NBA contract Friday, Sept. 12.
After losing his appeal for an extra year of NCAA eligibility and going undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft, the 6’9″ big man has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Miami Heat.
Dainja signed with the Heat’s Summer League team on June 27, where he averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds per game over three games. The team announced Friday, Sept. 12, on social media that Dainja and three other players were signing Exhibit 10 contracts.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed deal that offers players an opportunity to prove themselves in training camp and may be converted into a Two-Way contract before the start of the NBA regular season. The Exhibit 10 deal can also be waived, allowing a player to sign a standard NBA contract.
Dainja played a major role in the success of the Tigers’ 2024-25 season, averaging 14.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
