With their 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres last night, the Colorado Rockies no longer stand alone with the worst record in modern MLB. Their 41st win ties them with the 2024 Chicago White Sox, and they still just need one more to avoid the record altogether. The Los Angeles Dodgers also lost to the San Francisco Giants, so they are still 2.5 games ahead of the Padres for the NL West crown. The Padres are still firmly holding onto the second Wild Card spot, though, with a four-game lead on the New York Mets and a 4.5-game lead on the Giants, who sit half a game out with their win over the Dodgers.
