All the stars are out at Ford Field for the Detroit Lions’ season opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Sept. 14, and not just the usual suspects.

Of course it’s not too big of a surprise to see Michigan native and former “Key and Peele” star Keegan-Michael Key on hand, nor is it a shocker to see Eminem on the jumbotron, as he was shown during the second quarter.

But Jimmy Fallon? Yeah, that’s a bit of a surprise. At least on the surface.

Fallon is in town to film a show at the historic Detroit Opera House on Sunday night, where he’s expected to be joined by Detroit Pistons star guard Cade Cunningham as well as the aforementioned Key.

Before the show, Fallon stopped by Ford Field to help get the crowd fired up, waiving a Lions flag in a box alongside Key in a video the Lions shared on social media. While Fallon was waving a Lions flag, he wasn’t sporting Lions gear, unlike Key, who had a Lions-branded shirt on.

As invested as the duo may be in the game, they’ll be hoping for a Lions blowout, as taping for the episode will begin taping at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 and will air on Sept. 15 and stream on Peacock the following day.

In addition to Fallon, Key and Eminem, there were some other big names spotted at Ford Field as well.

Hall-of-Fame running back Barry Sanders was shown on the jumbotron and the broadcast, while Lansing actor and director (and Lansing native) Timothy Busfield and actor Gerald McRaney were seen chatting on the field with Key before the game.
