The Lompoc Library is inviting junior bakers ages 8-12 to bring their creativity to the upcoming Edible Books Contest on Friday, July 25, at Ryon Park, where edible masterpieces inspired by a favorite book or literary character will be on display.
Entries can take any edible form — decorate a cupcake, build a scene out of fruit, or use any edible materials.
Online registration is required by 5 p.m. Thursday, July 24.
Registered participants should bring their edible books to Ryon Park at 10:30 a.m. on July 25 for public display.
Judging begins at 11:30 a.m.
This year’s guest judges are Missy Morales and her daughter, Danica, owners of Sweet Baking Co. Prizes will be awarded in categories such as Best in Show and People’s Choice.
