Samsung has officially started the stable rollout of Android 16 this week and, at the same time, confirmed a list of Galaxy phones and tablets set to be updated, mostly starting in October.

The stable One UI 8 rollout started today, September 15, for the Galaxy S25 series in several regions including Korea, the US, and the UK among others. Samsung has confirmed that older devices will follow, with broader updates in October.

In a further post, Samsung has confirmed an initial list of Galaxy smartphones and tablets set to get the Android 16-based update, as well as when to expect those updates.

The bulk of Samsung’s One UI 8 updates will take place in October, with other devices being updated in November. The list, which is certainly missing some devices, is as follows:

It’s a little strange that 2023’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 will be getting Android 16 updates a month after 2022’s Galaxy S22 series, but this looks like a relatively swift rollout. We’ll provide updates over the coming weeks as new details are made available and as the schedule shifts.
