Vice President JD Vance, who was a guest host on “The Charlie Kirk Show” on Monday, partly blamed “left-wing extremism” for Kirk’s death.

White House Deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller also appeared on the show and blamed “terrorist networks” for the killing of the conservative activist.

Authorities have not yet identified a motive for the shooting. They believe the suspect acted alone and not with a network of people.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox told NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday that suspected shooter Tyler Robinson had a “leftist ideology,” despite coming from a conservative family, based on interviews investigators had conducted with his family and acquaintances.

President Trump warned Sunday that left-leaning groups will be investigated in the wake of Kirk’s death. “If you look at the problem, the problem is on the left. It’s not on the right, like some people like to share the right, the problem we have is on the left,” Trump told reporters.

“Of course, we have to make sure that the killer is brought to justice,” Vance said on Monday’s show. “And importantly, we have to talk about this incredibly destructive movement of left-wing extremism that has grown up over the last few years and, I believe, is part of the reason why Charlie was killed by an assassin’s bullet.”

Miller vowed that the White House will “use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, eliminate and destroy this network and make America safe again for the American people.”
