Sydney Sweeney is Millie Calloway, a new live-in housemaid for the Winchesters, a wealthy couple played by Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, in “The Housemaid.”
Nina Winchester (Seyfried) gives Millie a tour of their luxe home, where the maid will be staying in a small room on the top floor.
But there is something terribly wrong behind Nina’s bright smile.
Lionsgate just released a trailer for the movie, which is based on the bestselling 2022 book of the same name by Freida McFadden.
The twisty psychological thriller, a big hit on TikTok, is the first book in McFadden’s “Housemaid” series.
“The Housemaid” movie, directed by Paul Feig (”Bridesmaids”) and due out in theaters Dec. 19, spent almost two months filming in New Jersey this past winter (see filming locations below).
Rebecca Sonnenshine (”The Boys”) adapted the book for film.
New Jersey’s own Brandon Sklenar plays Andrew Winchester, Nina’s husband, in the holiday-time thriller opposite the Emmy-winning Seyfried.
Sklenar is a Dover native and Hackettstown High alum who grew up in Sussex and Warren counties.
He starred in another movie adaptation of a bestselling book — “It Ends With Us,” with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni (before the lawsuits), as good guy Atlas Corrigan.
He’s also known for playing Spencer Dutton in the “Yellowstone” prequel series “1923.”
