Although the 2025-2026 television season doesn’t officially kick off until Monday, September 22, according to Nielsen’s calendar, for marketing purposes, ABC launched new seasons of both “The View” (Season 29) and “General Hospital” (Season 63) on Monday, September 8.

During the week of September 8-12, 2025, all-new broadcasts of “The View” were up +0.03 compared to the same week last year among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating vs. 0.19 rating) and up +0.05 year-over-year among Women 25-54 (0.33 rating vs. 0.28 rating), a marked improvement compared to the second full week of Season 28. The veteran chat fest averaged 2.281 million viewers, up +6,000 year-over-year. The show is already off to a great start with its best performance during its season premiere week since the start of Season 25 in 2021.

“General Hospital” saw week-to-week gains among Women 18-49, up +0.02 (0.19 rating vs. 0.17 rating), and among Women 25-54, up +0.04 (0.31 rating vs. 0.27 rating). Additionally, the show was up +116,000 viewers week-to-week and up +168,000 compared to the same week last year.
