On Tuesday, four-star shooting guard Colben Landrew from the 2026 class informed Rivals’ Joe Tipton that he had canceled his upcoming official visit to Alabama, which was scheduled for October.
Landrew has also canceled his upcoming official visits to Georgia and Auburn. According to Tipton, these visits are not expected to be rescheduled. Meanwhile, Mississippi State is scheduled to host the guard this weekend; his visit to Texas A&M has been moved up, and a visit to UConn has now been added.
The 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard announced his top ten schools back in August, where he included the Crimson Tide in the list and even planned an official visit before canceling that visit on Tuesday.
Landrew is ranked as the No. 7 shooting guard and the No. 2 player from the state of Georgia, coming out of Wheeler High School. He is also the No. 26 prospect overall in the 2026 class according to Rivals.com. This four-star guard originally attended Thompson High School, where he excelled as a two-sport athlete.
Landrew’s cancellation of his visit is undoubtedly a setback for Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class, which currently ranks fourth in the nation. The Tide have two commits so far: 6-foot-6, four-star shooting guard Tarris Bouie and 6-foot-9, four-star small forward Christopher Washington Jr., according to 247 Sports. However, it’s not the end of the world, as Nate Oats and his staff are doing a fantastic job on the recruiting trail and are looking forward to another big weekend of recruiting.
Oats will focus on three key recruits visiting campus this weekend. The first is Cole Cloer, a 6-foot-7 guard and a Top-30 recruit from the 2026 class, who has moved his official visit with the Tide up to this weekend, according to Tipton. Additionally, the Tide will host the Ratliff brothers, Darius and Adonis, both 6-foot-11 and weighing 190 pounds, who hail from New York. The Ratliff brothers are four-star recruits and aim to form an unstoppable frontcourt duo at whichever school they choose.
