Basketball coaches and players in the SWAC will travel to Birmingham on October 7th & 8th for the annual SWAC Basketball Media Days.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — 2025 SWAC Women’s Basketball Media Day
Alabama A&M Guards Coriah Beck and Kalia Walker will represent Alabama A&M University at the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference annual SWAC Women’s Basketball Media Day at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Birmingham.
Alabama A&M head women’s basketball coach Dawn Thornton, who begins her second season on The Hill, will join the rest of the SWAC head coaches to address the media about the upcoming 2025-26 women’s basketball season.
Kalia Walker, a First Team All-SWAC selection a year ago, averaged a team-best 14.6 points and 2.7 rebounds. She surpassed the 1,000-point plateau toward the end of the regular season and shot 37.9 percent from the field and 81.4 percent from the free-throw line. The Alexander, Ark. native registered a career-high 30 points in a non-conference win at North Alabama last season.
Coriah Beck missed all of the 2024-25 season recovering from an injury. During the 2023-24 season at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the Memphis, Tenn. native averaged 12.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. She shot 37.1 percent from the floor and 33.1 percent from behind the 3-point line. In addition, during her last season playing, Beck posted a career-high 32 points at McNeese State and 11 assists at Mississippi Valley State.

The Alabama A&M women’s basketball program is coming off a historic season that saw the Bulldogs win 21 games for the first time during the Division I era and will look to repeat the success from a year ago.
Alabama A&M begins the season with an exhibition game, playing host to UAH in the return of the Mayor’s Cup. The regular tips off with back-to-back home games, starting on Nov. 5 against Talladega. For the second consecutive season, AAMU will welcome an SEC opponent to the Event Center as Ole Miss comes to The Hill on Nov. 7.

2025 SWAC Men’s Basketball Media Day
Alabama A&M Guard Kintavious Dozier and forward PJ Eason will represent Alabama A&M University at the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference annual SWAC Men’s Basketball Media Day at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Birmingham.
Alabama A&M head men’s basketball coach Donte’ Jackson, who begins his first season on The Hill, will join the rest of the SWAC head coaches to address the media about the upcoming 2025-26 men’s basketball season.
Kintavious Dozier transferred during the offseason to Alabama A&M from SWAC foe Grambling State. While at GSU, the Lanett, Ala. native averaged 12.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 69 games played. He posted a career-high 34 points at Washington State during the 2023-24 season and added a personal-best nine rebounds (vs. Texas Southern and vs Arkansas Baptist) and nine assists (vs. Arkansas Baptist) last season.

PJ Eason spent last season at Grambling State before following Jackson to Alabama A&M. He averaged 5.9 points and 5.9 boards per game last season at GSU. The Dadeville, Ala. native posted a career-high 17 points versus Prairie View A&M and added 13 rebounds against the College of Biblical Studies last season.
The Alabama A&M men’s basketball team will have a pair of exhibition games in October, starting on the 13th with the Ballin in Boutwell matchup against Samford, followed by a contest on Oct. 27, hosting UAH in the return of the Mayor’s Cup.
The Bulldogs begin the regular season on Nov. 3 with their home opener, playing host to Blue Mountain Christian. AAMU takes to the road just two days later (Nov. 5), visiting Big Ten foe Indiana.
