COMING UP GUYS, BACK TO YOU. KATIE THANK YOU. SO THAT BREAKING NEWS SWAT TEAMS ACTUALLY JUST STARTED CLEARING OUT FROM THAT HOME NEAR HAMILTON AFTER A SHOOTING EARLY THIS MORNING. THERE ARE TWO SCENES INVOLVED IN ALL OF THIS TAKING PLACE JUST ABOUT A BLOCK AWAY ON FRANKLIN STREET. OF COURSE, SOME OF THOSE CLEARING WLWT NEWS FIVE’S RICHARD CHILES LIVE FOR US THERE NOW. RICHARD, WHAT IS THIS UPDATE? GOOD MORNING. YOU CAN STILL FEEL THE TENSION IN THIS SCENE. SWAT UNITS HAVE BEEN STANDING DOWN. WE’VE SEEN THE LARGE, HEAVY VEHICLES REMOVED FROM THE SCENE, BUT OFFICERS HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE ABOUT 206 THIS MORNING. THIS INITIALLY CAME IN AS A GUNSHOT VICTIM, AGAIN SEEN RUNNING IN THE BACK ALLEYS ON FRANKLIN AVE. THAT INDIVIDUAL WAS TRANSPORTED TO FORT HAMILTON HOSPITAL, THEN TAKEN BY AIR CARE TO DAYTON. NOW, RIGHT NOW, THERE IS NO UPDATE ON THAT INDIVIDUAL’S CONDITION. BUT FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THIS COMMUNITY, A VERY, VERY TENSE, TENSE EARLY MORNING, THEY DESCRIBE THE SCENE WHERE OFFICERS ARRIVING AND YOU COULD HEAR THE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM POLICE ENGAGING WITH WHEN THEY BELIEVE SOMEONE WAS INSIDE OF THE PROPERTY, THE ANNOUNCEMENT GOING ON, ASKING SOMEONE TO COME OUT TO SURRENDER WITH NO WEAPONS IN THEIR HANDS. NOW AT THIS TIME, WE DO NOT HAVE AN UPDATE ON WHETHER OR NOT A SUSPECT WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY HERE OR AT ANOTHER LOCATION, BUT HAMILTON POLICE, CONTINUING THEIR ONGOING INVESTIGATION, THEIR PRESENCE STILL ACTIVE ON SCENE. WE’VE SEEN OFFICERS, THOUGH, AGAIN, WORKING OUTSIDE OF THIS INITIAL RESIDENCE WHERE THEY WERE CALLED JUST AROUND 2:00 THIS MORNING. WE BELIEVE THE INVESTIGATION WILL REMAIN ONGOING. SWAT units were called to the scene of a shooting Friday morning in Hamilton that sent one person to the hospital.

According to emergency dispatchers, crews were dispatched to the 1200 block of Franklin Street around 2 a.m. for reports of a gunshot wound victim.
