San Francisco Giants icon Will Clark was not happy about what he’s seen on social media recently. The posts claimed that he said he would grab former Red Sox star Rafael Devers by the back of the neck and drag the star out on the field to play first base.

Clark said he would never say anything like that and that it must be “that AI (expletive).”

Clark definitely said that exact thing at the 1:12:34 mark last week on his podcast, “Deuces Wild.” Here’s a link to the exact moment when he says it. (Warning: He uses ample profanity.)

Here’s the exact quote from Clark that he claims was made up by artificial intelligence.

“Even if I gotta go grab you by the (expletive) back of the neck and drag your ass out there, you will be at first base,” Clark said.

The claim is the latest development in the ongoing drama surrounding Devers’ trade to San Francisco and the ensuing fallout. Things escalated following a story from Clark in which the former Giants star said he volunteered to show up early and mentor Devers at first base. Devers no-showed.

In the most recent episode of his podcast, Clark blasted Red Sox radio broadcaster Will Flemming for being responsible for the story catching fire around New England.

After firing off an expletive-laden rant about Flemming, Clark then complained about seeing quotes from him on social media that he denies saying.

“There’s even some (expletive) – I think it’s on Instagram or something like that – it says that I was going to grab him by the neck and drag him out there or something like that,“ Clark said. ”It’s like, ‘What?’ I would never say that about a guy who I’d just met and I’m going to be working with him for the whole time he’s in San Francisco.

“You know, with this AI (expletive) that’s going on,” Clark added. “That’s what it is. It’s probably that AI (expletive), because I haven’t even posted anything on Instagram for a very long time.”

It’s a bizarre claim to make, considering that Clark makes that exact promise on the same YouTube channel where he denied it.
