CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Abbe Center for Community Mental Health in Cedar Rapids is set to start serving patients in a new space.
AbbeHealth Services operate as part of UnityPoint Health.
The center is moving from the Northwest side to the MedQuarter downtown.
The new building is on the Southeast side at 615 Fifth Street.
It’s across the street from Benz Beverage Depot.
On Thursday, movers delivered the furniture, computers, and equipment to the new space.
The Abbe Center said the move will help make mental health care more accessible and will strengthen its connection to the community.
Its executive director said the move will also allow for all of the center’s staff to work in the same building.
“We are working to serve the community in an integrated care model offering primary care, substance use disorder services, along with mental health. This space allows us to expand those services and be all together under one roof,” Megan Vranish said.
The Abbe Center will start serving patients at its new location starting Monday.
