Fans of the Boston Celtics now have an idea about how much veteran big man Al Horford will be making with the Golden State Warriors, according to a recent report from ESPN’s Anthony Slater and Shams Charania (h/t MassLive reporter Brian Robb).

Per the duo, the University of Florida alum will be offered the taxpayer mid-level exception (slated to be $5.7 million for the 2025-26 NBA regular season) once the logjam created by Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga’s free agency is resolved. And there have been hints in the league media that that impasse is drawing closer to a resolution, meaning the official end to the Horford era in Boston is as well.

With the Celtics looking to trim salary to address the potential impacts of being a second apron ball club, such an offer was always likely too rich for the team’s front office for at least this season. Moreover, the team’s decision to retool while star forward Jayson Tatum may have also been a factor for Horford’s decision to decamp to the Dubs.
