NASHUA, N.H. —

One person is dead after a shooting at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, sources tell News 9 Investigates.

One person was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment with a gunshot wound, sources told News 9 Investigates.

At least half a dozen other people were taken to Nashua area hospitals with injuries that were not gunshot-related, sources said. Many were injured in the chaos of the shooting.

Nashua police said they are investigating an incident at Sky Meadow Country Club possibly involving multiple gunshot victims.

Police said video surveillance confirmed there was only one shooter and they are currently detained. There is no threat to the public.

As of 10 p.m., nearby residents are still in a shelter-in-place, according to Nashua Alderman Melbourne Moran.

Massachusetts State Police said they initially responded to the Sky Meadow Country Club at the request of Nashua police.

“Ground assets as well as our K9 team and our Airwing initially responded, but all assets have since cleared,” Sarah Burgess, spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police, said.

Nashua police said the Sheraton Hotel, 11 Tara Boulevard, will be utilized as the unification site, police said. They said for people not to respond to the area of Sky Meadow at this time.

In a statement to News 9, Rep. Maggie Goodlander said, “I’m closely monitoring the tragic reports of a shooting tonight at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire Nashua community as we await more information.”
