AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Protesters gathered at the Potter County Courthouse Saturday afternoon to protest AI data centers in the Texas Panhandle.
Protesters gathered to voice their concerns about how these centers could impact the region’s critical water supply, the Ogallala Aquifer.
The event, organized by the Women’s March, involved several people carrying signs and handing out information on the potential risk the data centers could pose to the region.
Other concerns regarding the AI data centers include excessive water usage, noise and long-term threats to water quality.
