NASCAR’s annual trip to the New England region sees the Cup Series stop at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the first race of the Round of 12.
Last week at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway saw Austin Dillon, Shane Van Gisbergen, Alex Bowman and Josh Berry eliminated from title contention.
With the playoff points reset entering New Hampshire, a new round sees Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin atop the playoff standings with a 26-point cushion over the cutline. Teammate and last week’s winner, Christopher Bell, sits fourth in the playoffs, 20 points to the good.
Notably, Bell is the defending race winner at the 1.058-mile oval and boasts an additional victory there from 2022. The fight for a spot in the Round of 8 is sure to be fierce as defending Cup Series champion Joey Logano (-2) is among those below the cutline.

In the open-wheel world, Oracle Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen scored his first win since May at the Italian Grand Prix. While he’s firmly out of the driver’s championship picture, a runner-up and victory over the last two races may be a sign that Red Bull is getting back to full strength.
Meanwhile, the McLaren teammates of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are in the heat of a title battle as Piastri holds a 31-point advantage over his counterpart. Any slip up from Norris could prove to be costly in his bid for a championship as there’s only eight races remaining in the season.
Despite both events airing on separate TV stations, a subscription to Sling allows racing fans to tune into both.
