Round two of LPGA tournament play. Hit a bit of a snag today. It’s delayed multiple times due to inclement weather before officially being suspended at 330 today. Organizers say this is an outdoor sport, so they will play through the rain, but lightning is where they draw the line. And I spoke to a few players today about how they’re adapting to the changes. Players and officials took shelter in the pinnacle clubhouse as weather rolled back in this afternoon. They were able to get some golf in after delayed start of 1115, before having to head back inside. So for me, it was kind of a slow start to the day, but overall it’s been just trying to stay patient, not be too, anxious to get back out there. Play was officially suspended at 330. During their downtime, players took the chance to rest and refuel ahead of a busy weekend. I just sat kind of in dining for a little bit and had a nice little breakfast. As we got more notice of the delays, we, a couple friends and I went to go get a coffee, just to kind of stay preoccupied and really don’t try to think too much about, you know, how the weather is today. Players say there’s various challenges to golfing in the rain, so there’s adjustment on on how slow or how soft, the shots are coming to the greens and obviously being a bit more what, the usual. But with an outdoor sport, it’s nothing they haven’t seen before. It’s kind of normal for us to, to be able to figure out and sort of what to do on a rainy day, just kind of be patient. Shortly after you know, the first couple of holes, you get a feeling of how the course is really playing and try to do your best to adjust as quick as you can. Organizers say they’ll continue to monitor the weather ahead of tomorrow’s tournament play. If you had a ticket for today and didn’t get to watch the action. That will be redeemed for tomorrow. And if you had a ticket to the bite experience today, that will be redeemed and you’ll be given complimentary grounds access. Keep up to date with this tournament on Knwa championship.com.
