CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District has issued a public advisory for Edgewater Beach after a combined sewer overflow discharged untreated sewage and stormwater into Lake Erie on Wednesday evening.

The overflow exceeded the sewer system’s capacity, forcing a mix of stormwater and sewage into the lake near the popular beach.
