Apple just added a new feature to iPhones that could totally change the way you wait on hold on your phone.

With the new iOS 26 update, the biggest software change in years, you can now use the feature “Hold Assist.” This feature lets you be notified when your call is picked up. It will mute the sounds (yes, even the waiting hold music), and it runs your call in the background so you can do other things on your phone.

You can use this feature when you’re in a call by clicking the “more” button in the left-hand corner and then hitting “Hold Assist.”

It’s like you’re in control of being put on hold, and you can still go on with your day. This is great when you’re calling before your Disney World trip, when you’re still at home, and in the parks when you’re trying to call for dining reservations or any other issues you might encounter during your vacation.

Don’t forget there’s also a “Chat with a Cast Member” option, which is great when you don’t want to be on the phone. You’re still talking with a real, human Cast Member, and we love to use it for quick questions or clarifications.
